I can’t say I was shocked to learn about New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ corruption indictment. The slow crescendo of scandals and investigations and resignations has made it feel all but inevitable.

According to The City, Adams is the first mayor in New York City’s history to be indicted while in office.

I recorded Noise #174 with watercolored imagery floating in my head—someone rising on a balloon of bluster and bravado, large words swelling into space with very little actually inside them, atmospheric pressure building until everything bursts and falls.
