Noise #144: Sticks and the people that love them
An online movement appreciates simple, natural joys.
At first glance, today’s New York Times story about an online community dedicated to appreciating sticks seemed a little silly.
But after a closer read, I appreciated the coverage. These words from the article sum up why:
What started as a wilderness jest has by now morphed into something slightly less tongue-in-cheek. The act of finding, handling and appreciating a good stick seems to speak to one’s inner 5-year-old.
