Noise #127: The ballad of Nikki and Don
Music inspired by the Republican presidential primary as of 1/29/2024
The Republican primary just got fascinating.
Nikki Haley, though behind in delegates won, has started tweaking her opponent in ways that appear to penetrate his rhetorical teflon.
She does this with comfort, and seems to relish each jab.
To be clear, I disagree with Haley on many things. But in this isolated instance, I admire the guts and grace of her offensives, their effectiveness where so many others have fallen limp.
At this point, the Republican primary feels darkly, inherently musical in its call-and-response nature—the underdog pricks at the frontrunner, who swells and spews anew with each fresh injection of venom.
It was really a blast turning all of this into music for Noise #127.
Thanks as always for listening and reading,
Michael
